In my short time I have been lucky enough to work with some amazing people in a few incredible places. I started working in the vineyard at 15 years of age at Montalto on the Mornington Peninsula and did my first vintage when I was 18 in Margaret River. Following that I worked a couple of vintages with Weingut Johann Donabaum in Austria, Ramos Pinto in Portugal and Bay of Fires in Tasmania before beginning an assistant winemaker position with Jamsheed in the Yarra Valley. All of the these people taught me various things but what I took away most was that I wanted to grow grapes without harming the vines and the soils as well as make wines that give the purest expression of the dirt possible.
I started leasing a vineyard on the Mornington Peninsula in the winter of 2014 and in 2016 purchased a vineyard in the Otway Ranges to start my new chapter here. I now farm everything myself on my own property and a few other vineyards nearby that I lease with a focus on Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The Otway Ranges is not so well known for growing grapes as it is for it's nature. But the wines I've produced so far have blown me away in the quality.
